Flowertown Charm FAQs
Do I need to bring my own mat?
Yes, bring your own OLD mat and/or a towel. The yoga class will be held on a grassy lawn. We do have a couple of extra mats if you don’t have one. The goats sometimes like to chew on mats! So please don’t bring a nice one!
Where is Flowertown Charm Farm located?
We are located in the heart of Summerville, SC which is just outside of Charleston. This is our private home, so we do not give out our address unless a stay or event is booked first for our privacy and the privacy of our staying guests.
I booked a farm experience and want to change my date or time?
Go ahead and email us jenna@flowertowncharm.com to request a change. On AirBnb you can change your date and time within the app/website.
What are your hours?
We are open to our scheduled events only, we don’t have “hours”. In between events and staying guests we are usually doing upkeep with our farm animals, historic home, and office work. So we are by appointment only.
Are there any baby goats?
We usually have baby goats every Spring & Fall. Follow us on social media for more current info on babies! @flowertowncharm
I see you’re an urban farm, what does that mean?
It means we are in an urban area, we are in the heart of Summerville with commercial areas all around us. We are a pocket of farm space left in a developed area. Once upon a time this was historically all farm land before the town was here. We are what’s left!
Do we need to book a farm experience or stay ahead of time, or can we just show up?
Please, please, book ahead of time. Because we are a small urban farm, and specialize in intimate settings, we do not take walk-ins and often sell out quickly. Also if you do not book ahead of time and we cancel something, we can’t notify you of changes. Please email us if you have questions about that.
Are the animals friendly?
YES! All our animals are probably the friendliest you will ever meet. They are very socialized from the day they are born, and love meeting guests! We have even had them born while guests are here and they get to meet them!
Is there a bathroom?
Yes of course!
Can we BYOB to a Farm Event?
YES! Bring a cooler if you want! But drink responsibly.
Will there be poop?
Of course! It’s a farm! But goats poops are very small “berry” like pellets that don’t smoosh, are odorless. It’s fun poop! lol
What if it is a rainy or stormy day?
We will most likely reschedule the class as goats HATE the rain! We usually reach out to guests the morning of an event if the weather is looking bad to reschedule or cancel. We will also post weather updates on our IG or Facebook stories!
Do your goats bite or headbutt?
No. They do not bite! Our goats do headbutt each other when playing and showing off. They like to nibble on clothes, hair, and fingers, so although it is cute, just pull away if you do not want a new haircut! Also, their back teeth are very sharp, so please do not put fingers in their mouth!
How do I book a stay at Flowertown Charm?
You can come stay with us here at our farmhouse, we can host up to 5 guests in our 2 guests bedrooms + sunroom, and guests can go visit the farm animals as much as they like. Guests can book directly here on our website under “Stay”! See the NC Treehouse info below.
Do you allow children at your farm experiences?
YES Absolutely! We allow well behaved children of all ages at most of our farm experiences. Goat Yoga is our only one which is 10+ only.
Do you offer mobile events?
We only offer this for Goat Yoga for larger events where there will be 25+ attendees. And we require a fenced in area that is trailer accessible. For example we have done Goat Yoga at Nexton in their dog park area with 150+ attendees. Email us to inquire jenna@flowertowncharm.com
Who are the staff at Flowertown Charm?
It is just us, husband and wife, that live here and run everything! Chris & Jenna Pelayo. Chris often hosts the farm experiences and cares for the animals, if we’re busy we both will. And Jenna runs everything else, the Farm Stay, social media, emails, cleaning, calendar, rescheduling, website, and treehouse. We do our best!
Are there refunds?
No, we do not issue refunds unless the class is canceled due to the weather. We will happily reschedule you though!
Do you host breakfast at your Farmhouse?
We do not. We used to, but due to inflation and time demand on us with the animals and more farm events we do not include it any longer.
What makes your farm Different from the other farms?
Location, we are an urban farm in the heart of Summerville, so the convenience of that for sure sets us apart! Most farms here are out in the countryside, but not us! We are city in the front and country in the back!
Also our farm experiences are much more intimate than larger farms! We only host small groups of 25 or less, vs hundreds at most farms, there are more animals than people here. There are no fences separating the animals from people, the goats will be in your lap if you want them to!
Do you have adult only events?
Our Goat Yoga class is 10+ only, and rarely do we have them attend. We also can host private events which you can definitely have all adults! We will say we do often have more adult guests than we do children at all our experiences.
How far are you from Charleston, SC?
We are 27 miles to downtown Charleston which is about 35 minutes with no traffic.
How far are you from Charleston International Airport?
We are 14 miles from CHS which is about 20 minutes with no traffic.

In the winter as the leaves fall, you will see some distant neighbors rooftops, but it's still completely private.

Yes! That is the only shower but I promise it is amazing! Please remember the treehouse plumbing/water is shut down from Nov-March so the pipes don’t freeze. During that time it is more of a glamping experience and we provide rinse free bathing wipes. if that’s not your vibe, book from April-October! But I am a girly girl, if I can do it anyone can! ;)
